Still, they are provided solid assistance in the latter half by Damian Wayne's Robin - refreshingly NOT depicted as the self-centered jerk per his usual M.O., but actually sort of altruistic here - when things really take a turn for the worse. They're summoned to Nashville by the same mysterious man - and he is in cahoots with a villainess who wants said kids for their superpowers (that part reminded me a little bit of the 70's Disney live-action flicks Escape to Witch Mountain and Return to Witch Mountain - showing my age!) - which kicks off a tight adventure / suspense story that was good but sometimes goes tad overboard with its reliance on torture scenes victimizing the title teenage characters. We're in this together." - Gar 'Beast Boy' Logan, page 189įalling somewhere between the initial volume starring Rachel 'Raven' Roth (which I found sort of uninspiring) and the follow-up with Gar 'Beast Boy' Logan (which I thought was better, although it lacked action in exchange for drama), this third installment finally gets the future Teen Titan duo together. "You saved my life - we'll figure out the rest. I was robbed.ĭamn this review is a mess but so is this book so it's okay lmao. But, I would be down to see more of the Robin character.Īlso, I know og Raven wouldn't be caught dead wearing those cheesy ass shirts lmao!! ~world off, music on~ pleeeaaassseee she would be rockin band shirts and leather jackets. I don't know if theres going to be more books in this series. But the thing is that book 1 Raven and this Raven feel so different to me, IDK why. And I know these characters aren't technically the same as the OG. The reason I love the relationship of Raven and Beast boy is because of how long it took for Raven to actually show her feelings towards Beast boy. I really wished they would've developed their relationship a bit more because it felt so rushed. Like hold up ma dude you were JUST whipped over some other girl (i forgot her name). He literally was down bad for Raven the second they were both in the same room. And Beast Boy lacked personality and development. She LITERALLY says "I'm not like other girls" on page and I wanted to fling my phone across the room. Raven was a watered down version of the Raven I know and love. especially after really liking the first in the series and loving raven and beast boy as characters in this adaptation. I was excited to see them come together in this graphic novel series. Well, let me start by saying that I am a teen titans fan and I love BBRae a lot. I was so hyped for this and long story short. But can they find acceptance for the darkest parts of themselves? Or maybe even love? It will take a great amount of trust and courage to overcome the wounds of their pasts. When their paths converge in Nashville, Raven and Gar can't help but feel a connection, despite the secrets they both try to hide. And what's more, his difficulty controlling these abilities could have unexpected consequences.īoth are seeking answers from the one person who seems to have them all figured Slade Wilson. Garfield Logan still can't believe he has powers that allow him to change into different animals, but the price of knowing that his parents kept this secret hidden from him just feels too high. But she doesn't have time to think about the past.she has to focus on finding a way to get rid of Trigon for good. It seems like years, but it's only been a few days since Raven Roth recovered her memories trapped her demon father, Trigon, in her amulet and had her heart broken for the first time. From #1 New York Times bestselling author KAMI GARCIA ( Beautiful Creatures ) and artist GABRIEL PICOLO, the creative duo behind the New York Times bestselling graphic novel Teen Raven, comes the romantic meetup we have all been waiting for!
